Claquers are at the heart of our work. They are members of the community who support us or participate in community plays and other activities as performers, researchers, impro actors, educational drama role players and such like.
In a Claque performance, the audience and actors mix in a shared promenade space. The stories and ideas that make up the play are pulled from the community and the distinction between public and player is often blurred.
The Claquer is invited to add their voice to the making of the play, participate in the research and debate the play’s themes as it is being created.
“The production joyfully fulfils its task as a communal event, with swift crowds, full throated choruses and perfectly staged scenes cropping up all over the place.”
